Hello, there! I’m Jamecca.

I’m a nurse practitioner, mom, and avid coffee drinker. I started this blog in hopes that advanced practice health care providers (APPs), including nurse practitioners (NPs) and physician assistants (PAs), would have a place to gain invaluable knowledge to make their lives easier and optimize their practice. It is my hope that the topics can appeal to nurses, students, APPs, training physicians, and anyone who may be contemplating a career in the healthcare industry.

Education and Work Experience

I’ve been a nurse practitioner for 10 years. I’ve been a registered nurse for 16 years. Oh my goodness, I’m getting old guys! I have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), a Master’s of Science in Nursing (MSN) with a focus in the Family Nurse Practitioner track, and a Master’s of Public Health (MPH) with a concentration in Health Services Organization.

I’ve worked in various practice settings across the country and for some of the best hospitals in the world. To list a few sites, I’ve worked in the following practice settings:

  • Primary care private practice
  • Pediatrics
  • Retail clinics
  • Subspecialty hospital clinics
  • Locum tenens
  • Weight loss and management clinics
  • Medi-spa
  • School nursing
  • Camp nursing
  • Home health nursing
  • Nursing clinical instructor for junior level 2 nursing students
  • Investigational therapeutics and phase 1 clinical trials
  • BMT/Hematology & oncology
  • Radiation oncology

I’ve gained the skills and the knowledge. Now it’s time to share everything I’ve learned with you!

About the blog

The Constant NP blog is a new project as I endeavor to learn more about digital entrepreneurship for nurses and nurse practitioners. It is my hope that the topics will be useful, relevant, informative, and at times entertaining for the readers. I work full time as a nurse practitioner in a very busy subspecialty ambulatory hospital setting. I have a family in addition to clinical practice and blogging. If you’d like to learn more about my blogging journey stay tuned as I’ll log my progress. I hope you enjoy the topics. If there are any subjects that you would like me to explore further, please contact me via the contact page or shoot me an email.
